- About Me:
- My name is Kimberly Christina Gaines. I was born in New Jersey and
came to DC to go to school at Howard. I studied Film and minored in
Photography. At the time I was too nervous to show my portfolio to
audition for a spot in the graphic department in Fine Arts. So I ended
up studying the craft of Film. I think that film enhanced my
composition skills for photography. Since then, I have taught myself
graphic design and continue to learn and take classes to build my
skills. I own sondai expressions which is a visual creative firm. We
focus on photography and design as well as consultation.
I am also a member of Sophies Parlor, the oldest women's radio collective in the states. We have a weekly show on WPFW and I have recently transitioned into a programmer for the show. Listen to us every Thursday from 1pm-3pm on WPFW 89.3 The Diva for the day will surely please your ears!

I Inspire me
Is that cocky? I hope it isn't because I do not wish to be cocky or conceited. I get so caught up in the daily grind of "I have to do this, I gotta do that, I forgot to do that" it can be really draining and discouraging at times. Especially, when you don't see immediate results. I really appreciate when I have time to sit (or make time rather) and look at my past creations before the race is off and running again.
